Last night. bar hopped on Will's bike with grasovdka vodka all night. The first was outrageous. Nearly fall asleep. Don't bother mentioning where it is. Second, is at Shanghai Studio. I actually was impressed with Fabien Seguin's gallery more than anything. One place worth noting is our last stop at Anar Bar. What suppose to be a half and hour "hello" to Jinhua & Ivan extended to 3 hours of good music.

Minimal. describes the place and music. The last time I ever enjoyed was my trip back to Singapore clubbing at Zouk with Nick. The music was so good that you can go without cigarettes the whole night. I feel the same at Anar. Just 2 of us. Individuality is the style of Anar, people and its music. The best local Djs, the team from DKD spins there. It a place that didn't need a crowd or pretentious people. Casual, T-shirts and bums. The owners club with you. You will talk to Djs about their music. Ivan the manager gladly tells you about their style. He does it with no snobs. I'll be the next Saturday 16 March. I don't think it ever need a cafe or restaurant like Stella planned, maybe a wine bar will work. just good drinks and music. This place should be RSVP.

Paper Tiger Shanghai

Chinese inspired paper from paper tiger shanghai. She started as my client at embre and my catering service...and now i ended up being her customer. She's just inspirational.

I am going to use her paper again this month at a private ladies luncheon for the American Women's Club Shanghai.

It is a new restaurant food tasting by Eduardo, he hadn't got a name for it though. Surprising, I seldom compliment on food and I thought that the chef had done great with the first food tasting session. The chicken sandwich is actually very good. Grilled chicken breast is tender, very few chefs here is shanghai actually achieve this task. The bread is crusty and moist. For the rest of the menu, only minor details need to be look at. It was a great experience for me. It was be on my list of places to hangout. Eduardo sangria are always excellent. We've done a blind tasting on the previous week and I must compliment on his attention for details. Hopefully, this new place doesn't get too crowded. It deserves its exclusivity.

Start of the Olympics Games

Beijing Olympics 2008

This is the second country that I lived in that held the Olympics games. The Sydney 2000 was excellent. You can feel the atmosphere at every corner you walked. Shanghai is holding the football. It is so upset that some business got to be closed and most of my expats friends got to leave the country. At lot of businesses are affected, especially to restaurantuers. Really hoped the olympics will end quickly. Bring my friends back.

Chinese Vanlentines Day

Yesterday is the chinese valentines day. I didn't know it at all. No wonder when I was shopping at Raffles City, I saw this guy buying a bouquet of fererro rocher flowers with bright cyan blue wrappings, a dozen to be exact for 480rmb. I actually gave him a look thinking that I am so lucky that Will will never buy me ugly things like that.
Anyway, Will reminded me in yesterday morning apologizing about not getting me anything special. How will I be upset when I didn't even know? We ended up having dinner at home, popping over to the market and me cooking a big pot of curry chicken and spending time lazing at the sofa over TV. Just the 3 of us, Harley, Will and me. It had been a long time we spent time doing nothing. Will, of course couldn't last long sitting around. He had his PSP on his hand most of the time. Ironically, 2 of my best friends here in Shanghai was crying... well, over relationship.
